Body

As the leader of the firm’s business practice, one of my greatest rewards is watching clients succeed and achieve their objectives—whatever they may be. As a seasoned counselor and trusted business advisor, it’s my job to help you get there, while making it easy and understandable along the way. I know firsthand the delicate balance between legal issues and business objectives and practicalities. As a former corporate executive, I’ve walked in your shoes. I get it.

Whether I am dealing with a client, colleague, or opposing counsel, my guiding principles are to always treat others with respect and do the right thing. I have built a reputation for being humble, honest, trustworthy, and direct. You can count on me to set the tone with positive energy and composure, even in times of conflict and stress. As your outside general counsel, I will partner with you to address all your needs, including:

  • Corporate Governance and Entity Structuring
  • Real Estate Transactions: Purchase, Sale, and Leasing
  • Contract Negotiation and Drafting
  • Contractual Risk Management and Risk-Mitigation Training
  • Mergers and Acquisitions
  • Construction Contracts and Litigation
  • Banking and Financing Transactions
  • Real Estate Litigation
  • Commercial Litigation
  • Banking Litigation

By bringing a big-picture perspective to projects, deals, and disputes, I will ensure that you feel heard and understood as we navigate any issues or “pain points” your business faces.

Prior to joining HAWS-KM, I was with APi Group in New Brighton, MN where I served as Corporate Counsel and, most recently, Vice President of Risk Management. I provided sound legal counsel and practical business solutions to the organization’s executives. I received my J.D., from Hamline University School of Law and am a proud graduate of Marquette University.
